When SnagIt does what it says, and it makes life easier for those of us who make lots of screen captures.

- William Lefkovics, Microsoft MVP

Previously, he worked as a senior messaging and systems analyst at eEye Digital Security in Aliso Viejo, CA. There, they used SnagIt to produce supporting documentation for their software, as well as to create training materials for the staff.

Mr. Lefkovics explained, "The integration into applications like Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer allowed us to quickly and efficiently create quality screenshots with almost no external manipulation."

How is he using SnagIt as a freelancer? He said, "Now I use SnagIt for creating Exchange Server 'How To' documents on my site, www.emailonastick.com." He produces supporting documentation and manuals using Word.

Prior to using SnagIt, he would copy and paste into Fireworks for editing and exporting to TIF. He said, "At first I didn’t think there was a need for SnagIt, because I already had tools to accomplish what I needed. However, SnagIt reduces the time required for this, since it outputs directly to .tif and lets me select a specific size capture. Without it, I could only isolate a specific active Window."

He also likes that he’s not tied to .tif – he can choose from a variety of formats for output to file. He added, "The Outlook add-in is a convenient launch pad for SnagIt, as well."

He concluded that he uses SnagIt because, "SnagIt does what it says, and it makes life easier for those of us who make lots of screen captures."
