Produce a Video for an iPod, iPod Touch, or iPhone

iPod is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple Computer. Use the M4V option to create a video specifically formatted to play on an iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, or within iTunes.

To make your video's content easier to view on smaller screens, such as on an iPod or iPhone, try applying SmartFocus or adding Zoom-n-Pan keyframes to the Timeline. To learn how, see Apply SmartFocus and Add Zoom-n-Pan Effects.

Produce using Production Presets

1. In Camtasia Studio, choose File > Project Settings.
2. The Project Settings dialog box appears.
   • For playback on an iPod, select the iPod preset.
     
   • For playback on an iPhone or iPod Touch, click the All dropdown and select the iPhone preset.
     
3. Click OK.
4. Choose the Produce video as option in the Task List.
   
5. The Production Wizard appears. Choose the Production Presets option. Select the same preset selected in the Project Settings dialog box and click Next.
   
6. Enter the Production name and Folder and click Next.
7. Click Finish to produce the video.

Produce using Custom Production Settings

1. In Camtasia Studio, choose File > Project Settings.
2. The Project Settings dialog box appears.
   • For playback on an iPod, select the iPod preset.
   • For playback on an iPhone or iPod Touch, click the All dropdown and select the iPhone preset.
3. Click OK.
4. Choose the Produce video as option in the Task List.
   
5. The Production Wizard appears. Select the Custom production settings option.
   
6. Choose M4V.
7. On the iPod Options screen, select an option from the M4V subtype dropdown:
   • For playback on an iPod, select an option with dimensions of 320x240.
   • For playback on an iPhone or iPod Touch, select an option with dimensions of 480x320.
8. Click Next.
9. Enter the Production name name and Folder.
10. Click Finish to produce the video.
