Camtasia Relay software is lecture capture, streamlined. Record lectures from a Mac or PC in a classroom, office, conference room...anywhere. Automatically publish for all to view. No technical decisions for presenters, all the heavy lifting is done at a central server.

Top features of Camtasia Relay:
Easy recording on Mac or PC - It's as easy as click to start recording, click to stop recording, click to submit. With preset profiles, which know exactly what to do with your recording, you can focus on your presentation and let Camtasia Relay worry about the technical details.
Automatic processing and publishing handled by the server - Predetermined profile settings automate everything from the recording settings, to the formats the recording is produced into, to the destinations where produced files are published.
Multiple file formats - With formats like Flash and iPod video (MP4), audio (MP3), Camtasia Studio (CAMREC), Windows Media (WMV), along with others...and the ability to produce one recording into any or all of the above, you are sure to find the format best for your viewers.
Affordable and flexible licensing - No monthly, annual or per-seat fees. Camtasia Relay can grow with you. As the number of recordings your organization creates increases...so can your server capacity. You can easily upgrade to the next level at any time.

Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) needed a lecture capture solution. They were looking at what was available and evaluating solutions based upon the following criteria:
- ease of use
- ability to process files after faculty leave the classroom
- variety of file formats with little user intervention
- integration with their Learning Management System (Blackboard®)
- flexibility in where files are stored
A total of 16 faculty members at GRCC participated in the beta of Camtasia Relay, which met all of the above.
Garret Brand, director of distance learning and professor of business law at GRCC, is highlighted in this case study. Before Camtasia Relay, Brand used class time to lecture and then give an essay assessment. Students were expected to read the chapter before class and be prepared to analyze a new case at the end of class. There was no class time for students to practice.
As a result of Camtasia Relay, Brand's course was redesigned to add group discussions. His lectures were recorded and students were asked to view the lectures before coming to class. This allowed class time to be used for group work and discussion.
Read the full case study and see a sample of a lecture recorded with Camtasia Relay.

The Camtasia Relay server houses profiles, which make automatic production and publishing happen. They are created by the Camtasia Relay administrator and provide record, produce and publish settings.
For example: a single profile can say... record in medium quality, produce to MP4 and WMV, then publish to iTunes U and my FTP server.
Watch this video for more details on creating profiles and how to use them.
